Innocence.
I saw an Angel last night
sitting on a corner,
talking to nobody
about something no one wants to hear,
like a mad man.
He had the newspaper in one hand
and a bottle of whisky in the other, half empty.
Shadows passing, not even a sight.
I saw his grey wings full of dust,
sick feathers and nothing to eat,
just indifference.
We looked at each other but we shared nothing.
I saw him taking the bottle and vending over his body
all the wet oblivion.
Then he took a match and made a torch.
No one cared.
When I get home I switched off the volume of my TV
and remained silent.
I saw an angel last night
